The Yucatan Quartet, (Cuarteto Yucatan) founded in 2011 in Merida by members of the Yucatan Symphony Orchestra, is dedicated to promote classical and contemporary repertoire for string quartet.
This is their third year in residence at Hacienda Santa Cruz de Palomeque, presenting their chamber music concerts eighth season.
In January 2016 the quartet was selected to perform the world premiere of Michael Nymans’ piece “Cine Mérida” with the presence of the composer himself at the Hacienda Ochil.
Winner of the Municipal Fund for the Performing Arts and Music 2015, 2016 and 2018, the quartet has performed in different venues across the state.
