At FITUR Madrid 2019, Mauricio Vila seeks to attract more investment to the state

On the second day of activities of the International Tourism Fair (Fitur) Madrid 2019, Governor Mauricio Vila Dosal participated in a meeting with representatives of the tourism industry, where it was agreed to promote the attraction of private investments to trigger the growth of this activity in the different regions of the state and the country, in favor of the families of Yucatan and all of Mexico.

During the meeting organized by the Millennium Group, the holder of the Executive Power had the opportunity to greet the Minister of Commerce and Tourism of Spain, María Reyes Maroto Illera, with whom she exchanged ideas and shared experiences for the sector.

The governor witnessed the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the head of the Ministry of Tourism (Sectur), Miguel Torruco Marqués, and María Reyes Maroto, through which a joint agenda between the Mexican and Spanish governments will be promoted to strengthen the tourist exchange between the two nations.

In this regard, Vila Dosal coincided with the vision of the federal administration to keep Mexico present in international markets with strategies that, through innovation and creativity, represent better deals for travelers and are reflected in greater benefits for the people of Yucatán.

In this context, the head of the Executive Branch continued to hold meetings with high executives of international tour operators, as well as shipping companies and airlines, to whom he explained the tourist strengths that the Yucatán has to offer, in order to seek areas of opportunity for new investments.

In these approaches, Vila Dosal highlighted the benefits of the new fiscal incentive package for investments in infrastructure and tourism services within the State of Yuctán, which considers the reduction of up to 100% in taxes and duties in the first three years of activity and seeks to attract the new tourism related companies and projects that could generate jobs which will improve the quality of life of the Yucatecans.
