Mexicali, Baja California.- A pregnant Central American migrant was trapped on the top of the wall that divides Mexico and the United States, when she tried to cross illegally to the neighboring country.

It was around 7:00 pm on Wednesday Dec. 2nd, that Border Patrol agents informed Mexican authorities about the presence of a woman at the top of the fence, who was not able to descend.

Mexicali firefighters moved to the scene, near the Club Hípico residential zone, and helped the 19-year-old Guatemalan girl, who identified herself as Jacqueline Daniela, and who is eight months pregnant.

With the help of a ladder, the Mexican firefighters managed to put the Central American migrant safe and later she was turned over to the National Institute of Migration, where her legal status will be determined. She could be facing deportation.
