2 deadly cases of influenza confirmed in Yucatan

Yucatan remains stable in terms of influenza cases, reports of the National System of Epidemiological Surveillance (Sinave) indicate that in the state at least 410 probable cases of this disease have been registered, out of which 39 have tested positive, in addition to the fact, that 2 deaths have occurred so far.

According to reports, the percentage of confirmed types and subtypes of influenza are:

  • A H1N1 (86%)
  • B (9%)
  • A not subtyped (4%)
  • A H3N2 (1%)

It is worth mentioning that health authorities have expressed the importance of vaccination for vulnerable groups and people with chronic diseases, as a measure to mitigate the effects generated by this disease.
