As part of the festivities for the 477th anniversary of the city, the City Council will hold the Mérida Fest with the participation of 650 artists that will have feature presentations in more than 130 venues across the state capital, from January 5 to 27.
In a press conference, the director of Culture of the Municipality, Irving Berlin Villafaña, said that there will be 22 days of art and culture for all audiences in which the public will enjoy the performance of 500 local and more than 100 national and international artists.
He pointed out that this event represents an opportunity to celebrate the cultural diversity that makes up the Yucatecan society, which is characterized by promoting unity, solidarity and family coexistence.
During the event, held at the Paseo 60 shopping complex, Berlin Villafaña explained that among the most outstanding events are: the concert “Tributo a Mérida” with the presence of Alicia González, Noam Rittner, Flor Amargo, Cacho Medina, Rodrigo de la Cadena and Armando Manzanero, as well as the international salsa singer Willie Colón, the Cañaveral Group and the circus show Tabarnak, by the company Cirque Alfonse.
