More than 2 million people went to the Yucatan Fair at Xmatkuil this year

Merida, Yuc. (Notimex).- A massive influx was recorded in the closing weekend of activities of the Yucatan Fair in Xmatkuil 2018, which until before the last day, of the four weeks that lasted, exceeded two million of visitors.

On the final Sunday of the most important show of the state there was an intense arrival of passers-by, who enjoyed the shows, merchandise and attractions that since November 9 were offered at the fairground, located in this police station in southern Mérida.

The director of the Promoter Institute of Fairs of Yucatan (IPFY, for its acronym in Spanish), Abril Ferreyro Rosado, commented in an interview that these good figures of affluence show the confidence and preference of the people towards the Fair, since they have worked permanently to offer all the days shows for the whole family.

“The desire is that everyone could attend them, for this reason the production of the Dinosauria robotic dinosaurs and the sets of photographs Heroes and Princesses, which worked continuously and this allowed hundreds of thousands of people to enter them ” she mentioned.

Others, such as the “Forever Circus” and the ice show had functions at their maximum capacity and those who had the opportunity to meet them showed great satisfaction for the quality of these events.

Music, comedy, folklore and lots of fun were the common factor in the different scenarios, while local and national artists had space to exhibit their talent in their respective genres.

The cattle ranch had an outstanding participation with bovine, ovine and equine specimens, which were exhibited in the cattle post so that they caught the attention of children and adults.

“Charrería”, canine competitions, physicoconstructivism, kickboxing, mixed martial arts, wrestling and calisthenics, were other activities that had space in the Fair, as well as a collective wedding ceremony called the attention of the public that witnessed an event of legal importance for 560 couples who took the opportunity to formalize their marriage.

“There are many families that were present in X’matkuil and that motivate us to redouble our efforts to offer a fair next 2019 that exceeds the expectations of our visitors,” said the official.
