Kidnapped family rescued by Federal Police in Cancun

Agents of the Special Forces Division of the Mexican Federal Police managed to arrest five suspects who kept a whole family abducted, including 7 children, in the 229 region of Cancún.

According to a report from the corporation, on Dec. 25, a group of agents who were walking on the Avenida Niños Héroes was intercepted by a woman who identified herself as D.M.I. and asked for help because a group of people had their children and relatives locked inside their house.

The woman said that the kidnappers were asking for a payment of $ 20,000 and two cell phones to release them.

The police officers, who are part of Operation Kukulcán, moved to the indicated address and, with the authorization of the owner, entered and detained 5 people, including a woman.

The detainees were identified as J.G.S.L., 27 years old, originally from Ocosingo, Chiapas; J.M.Z., 52 years old, from Maxcanú, Yucatán; E.J.D., 23 years old, from Ocosingo, Chiapas; A.M.E.M., 51 years old, from Oaxaca, and A.J.K.B., 26 years old, from Benito Juárez, Quintana Roo.

The five were identified by the victims as those who had deprived them of their liberty and confirmed the amount demanded as ransom.

The people rescued are G.A.V., aged 24; A.M.A., 20 years old; S.Á.R., of 16; L.S.L.M. and J.M.L.M., both of 10; F.S.M., of 5; C.G.V.C., of 13; F.A.V.M, of 1 year, and V.H, of only month and a half old.

The case was turned over to the  State Attorney General’s Office, while the victims went through a medical evaluation that determined they were all unharmed.
