Hyundai Motors looking to invest in Yucatán

Hyundai Motor, one of the most prominent automotive companies in South Korea, expressed its interest in investing in Yucatan, due to its strategic geographical location and the competitive advantages it offers to investment, the Special Economic Zone (EEZ), located in Progress port.

State Governor Mauricio Vila Dosal met with the Director of International Affairs of Hyundai Motor Group, Sung-Jun Kim and his corporate team at a global level, who explained the benefits offered to potential investment companies by the Yucatecan ZEE.

According to the executives of the South Korean corporation, the focus on innovation, information technology and communication that the Special Economic Zone has in Progreso, as well as the effort made by Yucatan to train highly qualified human capital to face the challenges of the industry 4.0, which refers to an increasing digitalization and cooperative coordination of production processes.

“In that sense, the Hyundai Motor Group managers told Vila Dosal that the company is developing electric cars with a hydrogen-based operation, which is revolutionizing the automotive industry by betting on a sustainable and environmentally friendly vehicle production” , the government of Yucatán declared in a statement.

In addition, they stated that the South Korean company also continues to innovate in automotive software development, but always taking care of the safety of the crew of the units with cutting-edge elements.
