Agressor apologizes for assaulting ex-girlfriend

Ricardo Capetillo Camelo, the man who brutally assaulted his ex-girlfriend, nineteen year-old Naomi Ríos Abdala, in a shopping center in the north of Mérida, apologized for the assault.

On text messages and through a Facebook account, the individual, 20 years old and student of the Anahuac Mayab University, told Naomi that “he is very sorry and that he really loves her”.

In personal messages Ricardo said that they could be very happy together, although he adds: “but apparently you will never learn to love me for who I am.” He admits to be “not right in the head”, and concludes stating: “I will never be able to show you how sorry I am”.

The victim’s mother said that Naomi still has not recovered from the attack, the psychological consequences don’t let her sleep and she wakes up crying in the middle of the night.

The attack, as we reported on The Yucatan Times, spread through social networks and motivated the indignation and concern of the people on the continuous and increasingly serious violent incidents against women in Yucatan, some of which have ended in femicides.

After the assault, Capetillo Camelo, fled the scene and the victim, who is a student at the Marista University, ended up at the Star Medica clinic. A complaint was filed against the subject, which is already in progress and an arrest warrant against him is expected to be issued soon.

Naomi suffered a sprain in the neck, concussions, bruises and back problems.
