On Monday October 1, Mauricio Vila Dosal took office as governor of the state for the period 2018-2024, the new governor said that “the Yucatecans spoke for a change, which will be seen and felt from the first days of my government.”

With the presence of more than 700 guests, Vila Dosal was sworn in before the full political forces that make up the Yucatecan Congress, bearing witness to the federal Secretary of Tourism, Enrique de la Madrid Cordero, who attended on behalf of President Enrique Peña Nieto.

Speaking at the José Peón Contreras theater in this city, the new constitutional governor highlighted the fact that his so-called legal cabinet is made up of half men and half women, which is an unprecedented fact in Yucatecan history.

“Yucatan lives again a time of alternation in the Executive Power. And the state does so in a climate of peace, tranquility and respect for the law”, Vila Dosal said.

After the ceremony at the Peón Contreras theatre, Vila Dosal walked accompanied by his collaborators and followers to the Government Palace, where he took protest to those who are part of his legal cabinet, in an act that took place in the Hall of History.
