The governor of the state of Campeche, Alejandro Moreno, attended the presentation of the XVII edition of the International Festival of the Arts Julio Torri (FIAJT) Coahuila 2018, where Campeche participates as the guest state.
Accompanied by the governor of Coahuila Miguel Angel Riquelme Solis, Moreno Cárdenas thanked his colleague for the invitation received by his state to participate in this event that will take place from 10 to 28 of this month, it will allow them to show the best of the people of Campeche and their rich historic, cultural, gastronomic and artisanal heritage.
“The people of Cohauila will have the opportunity to see the face and character of Campeche, through gastronomy, folklore, handicrafts and textiles made by the magical hands of our men and women,” Moreno Cárdenas said.
“Campeche features a Mixed Heritage of Humanity for the ancient Mayan city of Calakmul and its tropical forests; a Cultural Heritage of Humanity in the city and port of San Francisco de Campeche, but above all this is a patrimony that belongs to all Mexicans, “he said.
Among other events, the state will present at the FIAJT 2018 the Gran Ballet Folklórico de Campeche and the Xamán groups, jazz fusion, and La Romanza Campeche. In addition, the books ‘Calakmul, Corazón de Jade’ ; ‘Imagine the Stars’, and ‘Artesanías de Campeche: Living expression of our roots’ will be presented.
The international festival contains an extensive programme that includes 190 activities and over two thousand artists, among which are Fernando de la Mora, Gonzalo Romeu (pianist) with el Trio Los Panchos and Mariachi Gama 1000, Susana Zabaleta, Regina Orozco, Alejandra Robles , the band La Mula de Sietes and Bule Bule, El Show, among others.
