The project of the Mayan Train goes ahead. On Saturday Oct. 13, at 11 am, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, president-elect of Mexico, will meet in Campeche with the governors of five southeastern states on which the railway was traced.
The written press and the web portals of the region and across the countryare talking about this important meeting in the city of San Francisco de Campeche.
Mauricio Vila Dosal, governor of Yucatán, adjusted his agenda for the day to attend the meeting that will be held in the Central Library, in the heart of downtown Campeche.
The event is expected to include, in addition to the host governor, Alejandro Cárdenas Moreno, the heads of the Executive of Quintana Roo, Tabasco and Chiapas, Carlos Joaquín González, Arturo Núñez Jiménez and Manuel Velasco Coello, respectively.
As it became known, the meeting will refine details of the train that would connect these entities. On Thursday and Friday Oct. 11 and 12, López Obrador met with the governors of Quintana Roo and Yucatan, and they discussed details of the plan that the president-elect of Mexico sustained will be carried out.
The Maya Train project presented by the next federal government would cover 1,525 kilometers, of which 426 will cross low tropical forest areas, 446 of the Caribbean and 653 kilometers along the Gulf of Mexico.
