Organic products are becoming more popular in Mérida

Everyday, more and more companies offer healthy and ecological products in an attempt to reduce the use of single-use packaging, such as styrofoam and plastic.

And Yucatan is not the exception. Places like Eco Sano Bistro, in addition to having a healthy food menu, has steel, bamboo and glass straws available for sale. Other types of products that can be found for sale in Mérida are those offered by Organic Garden, which are 100% natural and among which you can find products such as shampoos, soaps, essential oils, cosmetics and face masks, all made with natural ingredients such as jojoba, lavender, lemon or mint, just to name a few.

Productos ecológicos Vida offer organic honey, cassava flour, honey with basil, honey with ginger, turmeric. This place offers service to hotels, restaurants and they provide catering service, all its products are organic.

Ya’axtal Ecotienda is a space where you can buy products such as chickpea hummus, pita bread, pea fusilli, coconut milk and oil, natural infusions, almond butter or yaca.

If you are in search of vegan and vegetarian foods, the Organic Coffee of Mérida has almonds or soy sausages, hamburgers, steaks, chops, cheeses and yogurt, all vegan.

There are also bazaars that are held periodically where local producers and distributors present their articles in a public place, such as the one that was held on September 15 and 16 in the Prado de Chuburna neighborhood in Mérida, the fifth edition of the Artisanal Bazaar, where 25 exhibitors offered visitors artisan sweets, tejuino, handmade syrups, jams, horchata, cleaning and personal care products, soaps, oils, menstrual cups or biodegradable deodorants, all made by local producers and with the goal of promoting ecological habits among the population.

There are other places that offer organic fruits and vegetables, such as the Mercadito de Montebello, where people can buy jicama tortillas. They also make home deliveries to the beach communities of Progreso and Telchac.

Also on social networks you can find sites that offer this type of products with home delivery or at a meeting point.

And if you go online, the possibilities are countless: ecological diapers, feminine cloth towels, ecological bags for shopping, napkins, cornstarch straws and cutlery and many more, with the possibility of being delivered to your door from anywhere in the world.
