Cruise ships keep arriving to Progreso during the second week of September

The second day of cruise tourists this week was better than the first, because on Tuesday Sep. 11 the number of cruise passengers arriving to Progreso increased.

On Monday Sep. 10, only about 200 (7.6%) of the 2,655 passengers of the “Carnival Fantasy” remained in the port of Progreso, and the economic spill was not significant. Local tourist service providers expected a larger number of passengers from this vessel that came from Mobile, Alabama.

Paradoxically, business owners in Progreso expected less tourists getting off the “Carnival Valor”, which arrived from Cozumel.

The “Carnival Triumph” is expected to arrive on Thursday Sep. 13, and the expectations are higher.

Finally, Progreso service providers are looking forward for the weekend and expect many nationals to celebrate the Independence of Mexico having lunch or dinner at the local restaurants.
