Yucatecan guayabera will be present at the Central American and Caribbean Games of Barranquilla 2018

The president of the National Chamber of the Garment Industry (Cámara Nacional de la Industria del Vestido: CANAIVE Yucatan), Pedro Góngora Medina, affirmed that the inauguration of the Central American and Caribbean Games of Barranquilla 2018 will be a great showcase for the Guayabera of Yucatan, since the Cuban delegation will be dressed with 1,250 pieces of that typical garment made here in our state.

The business leader pointed out that the company “Soy Yucateca“, a partner of this business organization, was in charge of making the guayaberas that the government of Cuba acquired. Moreover, the trousers, hats and headdresses have been designed by the Cuban Santos Toledo.

Góngora noted that Yucatecan garments were delivered to the Cuban delegation more than ten days ago, including special garments made for Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel and for the island’s Minister of Sports.

Regarding the company that made the garments, “Soy Yucateca“, the CANAIVE president stressed that it is certified in the program “Así es la Guayabera, Así es Yucatán“, which guarantees the quality, design, authenticity and origin of this garment.

Góngora Medina highlighted that with this sale of “made-in-Yucatán” items to the Cuban government, one of the goals planned by CANAIVE is for the Yucatecan producers to be able to dress the members of the Mexican delegation that will attend the next Olympic Games in Tokyo 2020.
