In the framework of the ninth anniversary of Valladolid as the Honey Capital of the World and the sixth of its appointment as Magical Town, the artisan tianguis was carried out in the main park and an exhibition of apicultural products in the corridors of the Municipal Palace, where products based on honey are sold.
A gastronomic event took place at the main square, where regional appetizers such as panuchos, empanadas, salbutes and pibes con lomitos, among others were available to the public.
Nine years ago, during an apicultural congress that took place in Mérida, due to the amount of honey produced in the eastern region, local producers named Valladolid as the “Honey Capital of the World“.
On the occasion of the anniversary an exhibition of several products with the local brand was mounted in the corridors of the Municipal Palace, where candy, propolis, wax and bottled honey was offered to locals and tourists.

In the main park, as is customary in each holiday period, an artisan tianguis is installed, in which artisans display different products.
Most of those who participate have their workshops in other parts of the state, and take advantage of these dates to sell their products in Valladolid.
In addition to honey products, other artisanal items made of leather, wood, vine, stone and bone, were also offered, as well as embroidered clothing, guayaberas, shirts and blouses from all over the state.
After the inauguration ceremony, municipal authorities symbolically planted a dzidziclhé tree in an effort to promote the cultivation of plants that contribute to the production of honey in the Yucatan.
