PAN’s Mauricio Vila ahead in state election preliminary results

Although around 8 pm, the national president of the Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI), René Juárez Cisneros, said that Yucatán would be the only governorship won by his party in these elections.

However, three hours later, the Electoral and Citizen Participation Institute (Iepac) ) of the state announced that the preliminary results of the election favors the PAN candidate and former mayor of Mérida, Mauricio Vila Dosal.

According to the so-called “rapid count”, the PAN obtained a percentage of between 38.8 and 40.8% of the votes, followed by the PRI candidate, Mauricio Sahuí Rivero, with a percentage of between 34 and 36.5% of the votes.

The official results will be published in the next two or three days.
