In the evening of Friday July 27, a man was found dead on the shore, near kilometer 10 of the Chicxulub Puerto-Uaymitún highway.
Tenants and watchmen of a summer house located in this area reported the finding of a body dragged by the tide to the seashore. Agents of the State Police and staff of the Office of the State Prosecutor went to the site to pick up the body and start the corresponding investigation.
The body was located right at the “YZA” entrance, just a few meters away from the permanent police checkpoint of the SSP.
The male’s body showed symptoms of drowning by submersion; later preliminary studies conducted by SEMEFO’s forensic experts, confirmed this hypothesis. SEMEFO personnel carried out the removal of the corpse.
Hours later the body was identified by a family member as José Alejandro Tun Guardia, 39 years old, from Chicxulub Puerto.
