Progreso to celebrate 147th anniversary on July

Due to election day on July 1st,  the celebration of the 147th anniversary of the city of Progreso, will be moved to Tuesday July 3rd.  The usual official ceremony before the statue of Juan Miguel Castro, founder of the port, will be carried out on Tuesday.

The City Council informed that the festivities of the city will begin on Tuesday 3 at 5 in the afternoon, when the soccer and basketball children’s tournaments will begin in the Morelos field.

In the field of the Thermoelectric there will be women’s and men’s softball competitions to and on the 20 de Noviembre soccer field, women’s and men’s soccer tournaments will take place.

Many other sports and cultural activities will be held for 4 days, and the festivities will conclude on Saturday, July 7.
