New website allows local enterpreneurs to open their own business in less time

The City Council launched the website “Open your Company”, which allows you to know the right place to open a business, apply online for building permits and land use procedures, construction license and completion of work, among other options.

During the official presentation, the mayor of Merida, Maria Fritz Sierra, said that when this unique webiste comes into operation, the City of Mérida will be granting entrepreneurs, investors and citizens a tool that will allow them to open a company in less time and resources.

He pointed out that since the beginning of the present administration, the commitment to incentivize investment and support the Meridans that want to do business has been assumed. For this reason, a Regulatory Improvement Program has been implemented, with the collaboration of the OECD, and today it is one of the most innovative programs, rated among the best in the country by Cofemer and IMCO.

The director of Administration, Jorge Peraza, reiterated before representatives of chambers, schools, municipal directors and council members, that all this work was carried out with the support of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), through of the signing of a collaboration agreement,

The agreement features 235 recommendations that facilitate, simplify and promote the opening of companies and construction permits.

The official explained that this website offers information to know where a company can be opened just by entering the address or searching for an area of interest, it will indicate the possible compatible uses based on the Municipal Urban Development Program. It will also indicate the possible risks in the area, so that they can take them into account even before the construction starts.

“With this platform, those interested can obtain basic information, prior to making a decision, without any cost and without the need to carry out any procedure,” he concluded.
