The museum houses a collection of more than 160 pieces, including textiles and religious objects of the Maya, as well as engravings, books, historical documents, artistic and religious works from the viceregal period.

MUSEUM OF THE YUCATECAN SONG
For music lovers, this is the ideal place to visit. It is a museographic enclosure that was founded in 1978 with the mission of preserving, rescuing and promoting Yucatecan music.
Established in an old mansion of colonial style built in the late nineteenth century, this museum is located right in the heart of Merid. This place was erected in honor of the top representatives of the Yucatan trova, such as Ricardo Palmerín, Guty Cárdenas, Cirilo Baqueiro Preve ” Chancil “, Ermilo Padrón López, Juan Acereto and Pastor Cervera.
Here, you can admire oil portraits of composers, performers, poets or promoters of Yucatecan music; relics, prehispanic instruments, afrocubano and trova yucateca, as well as some personal objects of composers such as letters, manuscripts and instruments.
The most interesting thing is that you can buy vynil records, CDs, videos, songbooks, postcards or even cassettes that you won’t find anywhere else in the world.
