The death of the retired Physical Education teacher, José Tzec has caused great commotion in the town of Ticul, as he was found by his family on May 31 hanging from a hammock rope inside his home located in the Santa Maria neighborhood.
Teacher José Tzec taught Physical Education at the school “Jacinto Pat” in the municipality of Dzan for many years, hence it was known by several generations of students who later became parents.
After retiring, he set up a rental of tables and chairs business in Ticul. According to next-door neighbors, Professor Tzec would have taken the fatal decision after falling into a deep depression.
