The National Chamber of Housing Developers (Canadevi) reported that there has been an increase in the residential pricings in the north of Merida, with an average price of 3.5 million pesos. In that sense, buyers from Mexico City, Nuevo León and State of México are acquiring apartments.

“In Yucatan the offer of residential housing has been growing. In the north of Mérida we can see many private  “vertical” buildings, that are relatively new to the city” said the president of the Canadevi Yucatán, Armando Valencia Castillo.

The leader of the Canadevi said that the Yucatecan real estate sector has an outstanding development in the municipalities of Conkal, Kanasín, Umán, Ucú and Progreso.

Valencia Castillo said that the housing sector is growing at a steady pace, as happened last year, when residential houses in the north of the city reached an average value greater than 2.5 million pesos.

He also said that the first half of the year will be particularly good for the housing sector of the state, and considered that the electoral campaigns did not stop the incoming federal resources, in the form of subsidies for the construction of more than 5,000 houses.

He said that during the first quarter of the year 2,500 homes were built in Yucatan, and that the overall goal for 2018 is a total of 10,000 homes.

He added that the delivery of houses is proceeding apace, in spite of the electoral campaigns, since programs such as Infonavit flow in a normal way, as this financing program works with a tripartite scheme that has not been stopped.

“We will have a very positive outcome in terms of housing on the first half of the year” the president of the National Chamber of Housing Developers (Canadevi) concluded.
