High temperatures and some rain is expected in the Yucatan Peninsula for the weekend

For the next few days, a gradual recovery in maximum temperatures is expected, in addition to low potential for precipitation in the region, reports the National Water Commission (Conagua), through the Regional Hydrometeorological Center of Merida (CHRM) of the National Meteorological Service (SMN).

Recordings from very hot to extremely hot temperatures are anticipated, especially in the northwest and central areas of Yucatan, as well as in the north and center of Campeche.

According to the forecasts, for this Friday May 4, maximum temperatures of 35.0 to 39.0 degrees Celsius in are expected in Yucatan and Campeche, while for Quintana Roo 33.0 to 37.0 degrees Celsius are estimated.

Sky is expected from clear to partially cloudy with low rainfall potential, although drizzle is not ruled out in the northeast, east and south portions of Yucatan; center and south of Campeche; and, in the north and south of Quintana Roo.

On Saturday according to the CHRM, maximum values ​​of 36.0 to 40.0 degrees Celsius are forecasted for the states of  Yucatan and Campeche, as well as from 34.0 to 38.0 degrees for Quintana Roo.

Similarly, the potential for rainfall is low, although the humidity coming from the Caribbean Sea and the diurnal heating could generate drizzle in the south of Quintana Roo; center of Campeche; and, east and south of Yucatan.

There would be dominant winds from the southeast east of 20 to 30 km / h with gusts of more than 50 km / h in the coastal zone.

The entry of moisture from the Caribbean Sea will be constant during the weekend, and isolated squalls could occur in the north and south of Quintana Roo; east of Yucatan; and, center of Campeche.
