Khiron life Science, a Canadian integrated agro-pharmaceutical cannabis production company that manages its core operations in Colombia, announced on May 30 that it is strategically positioned to penetrate the medical cannabis market in Mexico by being the main sponsor of the CannaMéxico World Summit.

This conference, which is taking place on Wednesday, May 30 and Thursday, May 31 at the San Cristobal Center in Guanajuato, Mexico, is led by former Mexican President Vicente Fox Quesada, an ardent supporter of cannabis for medical use as an alternative treatment method for a wide range of medical conditions.

The opportunity to exchange information with medical professionals together with former President Fox represents a key element of the education market strategy and the exchange of experiences across the borders of Latin America.

During this conference, Dr. Danial Schecter, adviser to Khiron, one of the leading medical cannabis experts in Canada, will present medical information on cannabis. Khiron will also have a kiosk at the conference venue and attend a private lunch with former President Vicente Fox and key representatives of Cofepris, the Mexican equivalent of the US Food and Drug Administration, FDA.

Álvaro Torres, co-founder and president, CEO of Khiron said that Mexico represents a significant market for his company, with a population of approximately 123.5 million inhabitants and an access to almost 11.7 million patients using medical cannabis. “It is an attractive opportunity to transfer the wealth of knowledge we have created in this new market” he added.

The same strategy that Khiron presents at the CannaMéxico World Summit in Guanajuato will be applied throughout the Latin American region as the company seeks to expand its operations to markets in countries such as Brazil, Chile, Argentina, Peru and Panama.
