In August 2017 the official model of the Moch Couoh and the Marine Fountains was presented, which marked the beginning of the construction works of this leisure space with an investment of 180 million pesos and local authorities said that the park should be completed by the fist quarter of 2018. It’s already May, and the projecto is still under construction.
Attractions of the new renovated Park and the Malecón
The new park will be located on an area of 31, 536 square meters and will have parking space for 210 vehicles, green areas, an interactive pirates´museum, water mirrors with waterfalls, lighting will be based on solar energy and 20 species of trees of the region such as flamboyán, poplar, ceibo, cedar and tzalam will be planted.
As part of the modernization of the area, a 20-meter-high sculpture by the artist Jorge Marín will be placed on the pier, which will commemorate the 500th anniversary of the “Encounter of Two Cultures”.
On Monday April 16, Campeche governor Alejandro Moreno Cárdenas suprevised the progress of the construction of the new Moch Couoh park and the modernization of the Costera del Golfo highway.
During the tour, which the governor carried out together with the Secretary General of Government, Carlos Miguel Aysa González, he received detailed information on the work carried out at both spots, in accordance with the established regulations.
