Mexican 19 year-old develops breast cancer detecting bra

Nearly half a year after the presentation and pre-sale of Eva, the first bra capable of detecting breast cancer at an early stage, its developer, Mexican Julián Ríos Cantú announced that the 5,000 available units are already sold and the item will be available for sale in Japan by the end of this year.

It should be noted that this device, which was developed by the 19-year-old Mexican and executive director of Higia Technologies, detects abnormalities in the thermal patterns of the breast, indicators of cancer at early stages.

During a presentation at Talent Land, in Expo Guadalajara, he highlighted that two years after having founded his company alone, the team is currently made up of 15 engineers, industrial and hardware developers in Mexico, Colombia, Spain, Japan and the United States.

In a statement, Ríos Cantú said that Eva is a non-invasive device that can be used by women under any clothing garment, in order to periodically monitor the proper health of their breasts. It’s absolutely simple to use and can be utilized privately at home once a week.

According to its creator, the algorithms are in constant refinement and learn from each new user they have access to, in order to make the results more reliable and continue to make the mathematical models more accurate.

In addition, it aims to create awareness in all social strata, because the disease manifests itself equally, although in low-income women the risk is greater, hence seeking to make alliances to make the invention available to rural communities across the country.

Julián Ríos is the first Mexican to win the EO entrepreneurial world prize, the youngest to receive the Presidential Medal in Technology and Innovation by President Enrique Peña Nieto and he is also a guest professor at the Harvard-MIT Innovation Laboratories.

He obtained the national prize for the entrepreneurial student of GSEA, being the youngest winner in the history of the contest, and the Vanguard recognition by the Minerva KGI University, as a distinction to his work in social entrepreneurship.
