On Friday April 6, a fire consumed a palapa 7 meters wide and 10 meters long, that used to be Restaurant “Zamná”.

The restaurant was located on Calle 22 between 31 and 33, in the Magical Town of Izamal, Yucatán.

The incident, which caused fear among residents and tourists alike, began around 6 pm and the flames quickly reached up to 10 meters (30 feet) high, according to witnesses.

Firefighters from the Ministry of Public Security (SSP) came to the site and with the help of water trucks tried to put out the fire, however, despite their efforts, it was not possible to save the palapa made of huano and wood.
