“Now the adoption of dogs and cats can be done in an easy way thanks to the site www.adopta.com.mx, where people can see a catalog of the animals available, that have been rescued by civil organizations and activists in Mérida, Yucatán; which will make it easier for them to find a home”, said Natalia Uprimy Salazar, Coordinator of the Adopta Program.
While introducing the project, which has the support of the City of Mérida, Uprimy Salazar explained that the platform was designed to facilitate a better dissemination of the animals ready to be adopted, so that they have more opportunities to find a suitable home.
In this way, who wants to adopt a pet has to enter the website, choose a pet, fill out a form and in a few days he or she will be notified whether is suitable or not to own the pet.
After being approved, a representative of Adopta visits the home of the interested party to make sure that the new “family member” will have the necessary space and attention, and afterwards the animal is delivered to its new “Family”.
Currently, there are about 200 animals ready to be adopted on this website, but it is expected that more groups of rescuers can contribute to increase the catalog of dogs and cats that need to find a home.
