

During the two weeks of the vacation period, the cultural centers of the Culture Directorate will open their doors to the Yucatecans and tourists, except for Thursday 29 and Friday 30 March.
The Olimpo Cultural Center houses the collections “Beyond Cuba” (ByArte1010, room 1), “Desaprendiendo” by Aldo Chaparro (room 2) and the collective “Arte vivo Mérida 2018” of the Fundación México Vivo. The visiting hours from Tuesday to Saturday are from 10 am to 8 pm and on Sundays from 10 am to 3 pm.
The weekly Film Series will be dedicated to the Czech director and screenwriter Miloš Forman and only eight films will be screened: “The loves of a blonde” and “Youth without hope” (Tuesday, March 27), “Trapped with no way out” and “Hair” (Wednesday 28), “Amadeus” and “Larry Flynt” (Saturday 31), and “The Lunatic” and “Goya and the Inquisition” (Sunday, April 1). The feature presentations are at 5 pm and 8 pmt with free admission and the video room holds sixty people.
Universal art can also be enjoyed at the Museum of the City of Mérida in the exhibitions “Corpus Aerternum” by Miguel Carrillo and “Bóreas, el viento del norte” by Mexican sculptor Jorge Marín, both belonging to the collection “Pago en especie” of the Ministry of Finance and Public Credit.
There are also the temporary exhibitions “El instante inaprensible“, in which students, teachers and graduates of UADY’s Visual Arts School and the Faculty of Architecture participated and that occupies the Municipal Art Gallery of Mérida;
“Nidos Ex TENDIDOS” by Lián Li
And the “Pieza del mes” exhibition program, dedicated to Yucatecan sculptor Jorge Cherriz.
Museum of the City of Mérida opens from Tuesday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., and on weekends from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Admission is free for all the activities of the cultural centers and museums.
