Local Boxer Miguel “Alacrán” Berchelt Defends World Champion Title

WBC super featherweight champion from Quintana Roo, Miguel “Alacrán” Berchelt (32-1, 28 KOs) and challenger Maxwell Awuku (44-3-1, 30 KOs) from Ghana, will clash for the world title at the Oasis Arena in Cancun, Quintana Roo on Saturday night.

Check out the interview by Stephanie Webster and Tin Castro with Miguel “Alacrán” Berchelt a local boxer who is currently the World Boxing Council super-featherweight champion. He is not only an amazing boxing talent, but also a noble man.

Berchelt (32-1 and 28 KO’s), will face a tough opponent, Awuku’s numbers speak for themselves with 44 wins, 3 losses and 1 draw, with 30 knockouts under his belt and highlight by the fact that he has never been knocked out, so the Quintana Roo champion will try to be the first to achieve a KO over him.

The event will be promoted by Zanfer Promotions and Max Boxing in partnership with Cancun Boxing that will be broadcasted by Azteca 7.

Berchelt won the world title in January 2017, by knocking out Francisco “Bandido” Vargas.
