Isla Mujeres’ “Island Time Music Fest”: concerts, fishing tournament and more

ISLA MUJERES, Q. Roo.- On February 14, Isla Mujeres will host the “Island Time Music Fest”, which has been organized by the community of foreigners in the municipality during 8 the last years now. The main objective of this event is to support “The Yellow School”, which offers services to children with disabilities and works with the donations from the population. In this regard, the festival will not only aim to the general public but also will attract altruistic tourism mainly.

The event will feature several activities, such as a fishing tournament, culinary show and concerts.

As in previous years, country music artists will be performing, but in this edition the event will diversify its artistic offer, as pop and rockn’roll artists will play too, some of these artists participated in U.S TV Reality Shows: American Idol and The Voice.

In addition, Jorge Blanco, who has participated in various films such as “Coco”, and the series “Violetta” and High School Musical Latinoamerica will also be performing.

There will be a total of 28 guests, including producers and composers of important international firms.

At the same time there will be a series of events, such as wine tastings, gastronomic tastings and beach parties that will charge an addmission fee, and the proceeds will be donated to the Yellow School.

The concerts seek to attract hundreds of American tourists to the island, who leave an important economic spill during their stay and this is obviouly good for the local economy.
