

San Francisco de Campeche, Campeche.- After it was announced that Yucatán, Campeche and Quintana Roo will promote the rescue of the Mayan Language by incorporating it into the curriculum of the schools, especially in educational institutions at indigenous communities.
Campeche’s State Secretary of Education, Ricardo Medina, informed that the different secretaries of the sector in the region, are talking with the Federal Public Education Secretariat (SEP), so that this program is included within the New Educational System that will be implemented in the Peninsula of Yucatan

“We participated with the SEP in the revision of Maya and Indigenous Language textbooks, we held meetings with authorities of the federal dependency as well as personnel from the area of indigenous education who intervene actively to generate observations that help enrich the text books”, Medina concluded.
