MERIDA — The two alleged drug dealers who shot an agent of the State Investigative Police were charged with the crimes of attempted homicide of a public servant and drug dealing, because they were allegedly found in possession of cannabis and cocaine for sale.
The judge determined preventive detentiion and set for Thursday November 16 the bond hearing. Also, for the amount of drugs they were transporting, about 30 kilos, the possibility was opened that the case would be processed by the PGR for drug trafficking.
During the hearing held in the courts of orality, based in Uman, the judge determined the legal detention and charged them with the aforementioned crimes. Also, as a precautionary measure, he granted informal pre-trial detention.
The detainees are M.A.B.C and M.A.C.M, who remained silent, declining their right to testify.
According to the Diario de Yucatan the subjects were arrested last Thursday November 9, after an impressive security operation in Kinchil, in which around 100 agents of the SSP and many others from the reaction group of the same force participated, as well as municipal police of Hunucmá, Tetiz and Kinchil.
The defendants blocked a patrol car and then went down into the forest from where they shot at the officers, wounding one.
It was reported that their vehicle transported about 30 kilos of marijuana and cocaine.
According to the investigations, the detainees are part of a criminal cell that operates in the western area of Yucatan, from Caucel to Halachó.
