New tourist attractions created in Izamal

The “videomapping” of Izamal will feature a Mayan ritual…

IZAMAL, Yuc. — To enrich and make more attractive the show “Senderos de Luz” at Izamal, named a Pueblo Mágico de México, the Patronage Cultur assumed the operation of this light and sound system and will add live artistic events.

In addition to the spectacular videomapping that is projected in the structure of the former Franciscan convent of San Antonio de Padua and the historical narrative in the five most emblematic corners of Izamal, Patronage Cultur General Director Dafne López Martínez said the agency will enrich this tourist attraction with a ritual of prehispanic Mayan dancers and folkloric dancers in the wide atrium of the famous convent of the viceregal era.

“We work in coordination with the city council and we want to strengthen this nocturnal tourist attraction,” said the head of Cultur.

There are three functions per week on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 8pm, and show tickets cost $77 pesos for the national tourist and $110 pesos for the foreign tourist. The collection is done by the Fiscal Administration Agency.
