CANCUN — The Attorney General’s Office (PGR) has confiscated security boxes in Quintana Roo as part of an alleged investigation into organized crime leader “Doña Lety” and moved all the goods within the security boxes to Mexico City.
Agents from the Office of the Special Prosecutor for Organized Crime Investigation (SEIDO) intervened on October 9 to First National Security in Mexico, S.A. de C. V. and checked the boxes of about 1,500 clients. A group of them yesterday blocked Avenida Brisas, in Cancun, to demand that SEIDO return their belongings.
The company, where the PGR placed a stamp on the door with file number FED / SEIDO / UEIDCS-PUE- / 0000740/2017, is related to an investigation against the alleged criminal leader, who apparently used the boxes to keep assets of illicit origin.
To continue the investigation, the assets were transferred to the PGR headquarters on Friday, local media reported.

The legal defense of the company stated that, since the seizures, the Attorney General has not explained the reason for the intervention of this establishment, and although it requested an injunction, this was not granted.
On August 9, the Navy detained Leticia Rodriguez ska “Doña Lety” in Puebla, alleging she is the leader of the Cancun Cartel and linked to the Sinaloa Cartel, and after her capture the PGR has led a series of investigations and searches in several properties in Cancun.
The authorities’ Cancun intervention has prompted many clients to remove their belongings from First National Security’s Merida facility, located at Prolongación del Paseo de Montejo #478, Merida, Yucatan.
