MERIDA — Yucatan is one of the five states with the best employment prospects, according to the new survey on labor expectations prepared by the international consulting firm Manpower Group.

Yucatecan employers report optimistic hiring intentions with a Net Employment Outlook (percentage of executives planning to increase hiring minus the percentage of those hoping to reduce it) of 21%, the third highest figure in the country, only behind Durango and Colima, which anticipate 22%.

“This is the result of Yucatan’s economic dynamism. There is no other state that is increasing employment; that means the investment is growing,” said Héctor Márquez Pitol, Director of Marketing, Key Accounts and Institutional Relations of Manpower Group for Mexico and Central America.

21% of Mérida’s businessmen report that they plan to increase their workforce, 2% expect to decrease them, 76% expect to remain unchanged and 1% just don’t know if they will be hiring new employees or not.
