MERIDA — With an extended service of medical attention, minor emergencies, clinical laboratory and ultrasound, Clinica Merida inaugurated its sixth branch in Plaza Akropolis of the colony Las Americas, as an initiative to bring the best quality health services to the new developments around the city, informed Alberto Navarrete Ruiz del Hoyo, general director of the Clínica de Mérida.
In its 53 years of service, the Clinica de Merida has grown to the rhythm of the city, which has spread outside the peripheral ring boundaries, so it is necessary to leave the central hospital to give attention to citizens in six branches, he said.

“The city has grown and you can’t take the city to the hospital, but you have to extend the hospital to where the city grows,” he remarked.
Now the important thing about the service is, that it counts with the quality and the guarantee of the brand Clinica de Merida, which supervises all the personnel and the good operation of these six centers of attention that have the support of the institution along with its 53 years of experience.
He said that the most important thing in a hospital is the medical staff, laboratory personnel, radiologists and specialists, since it is what gives the guarantee to the service.
Meanwhile, the director of the new Care Center, the chemist Miriam Lugo Tavera, said that the branch of Las Americas is the first that offers the service of medical care, ultrasound and the help of an internist.
Currently, the Clinic has five branches in Merida and one in the city of Motul, but this is the first to provide emergency services for minor injuries, pressure and injections with the backing and staff of the known hospital.
He added that this is an effort to address the colony Las Américas that currently has a population of 45 thousand inhabitants, grows 4 thousand inhabitants a year and is estimated to reach 90 thousand inhabitants when the housing project is completed.
Victor Hugo Lozano Poveda, community policy director of City of Merida, said that the Clinica de Merida is an ally of the public health services to give timely attention to a city of more than one million inhabitants that grows day by day.
The Mérida Clinic has laboratory branches in Villas la Hacienda, Boxito Kalia, Ciudad Caucel, Francisco de Montejo and Motul.
Its consultation hours are six days a week from 7am to 2pm and according to needs will extend the hours of care.
