MERIDA — According to information from the National Weather Service for today Tuesday August 8, intense storms are expected throughout the Peninsula, high waves of 3 to 5 m and isolated wind gusts of over 70 km/h in parts of Yucatan, Campeche and Quintana Roo, due to the weather system named “Franklin”.

As a precautionary measure, Volaris Airlines announced that, due to the passage of tropical storm Franklin through Mexican territory, it will reschedule or cancel several flights Tuesday August 8 with origin and destination to Merida, Yucatan.
In a statement, the airline announced the cancellation of the flights 756 from Mexico and 686 from Guadalajara, Jalisco; meanwhile, the flights from Merida 759 to Mexico City, and 687 to Guadalajara, were cancelled, reports Notimex.
Also, the flights rescheduled were: 7756 Mexico-Merida with departure at 10:05 am; 7759 Merida-Mexico with departure at 12:41; 7686 Guadalajara-Merida scheduled for 9:23 and 7687 Merida-Guadalajara scheduled at 12:19.
For those cases where customers choose not to fly in the rescheduled itinerary, the airline made available to its customers the possibility of making the change in their flight to and from Merida without charge, only for flights with original departure date on August 8 to and from Merida, and the new flight date must not exceed the next 90 calendar days, excluding holidays.
The change on flights and dates can be made through the telephone lines of the airline 01 (800) 272 0248 in Mexico.
