Eight subjects stormed the Diamonds jewelry store where they took jewelry and valuable watches. Simultaneously, a man was shot and wounded on 5th Avenue and Calle 20.

Early reports indicated that the robbers were armed. The area is cordoned off, the State and Municipal Police arrived, in addition to the Firefighters because the robbery activated security codes that in turn activated release of carbon dioxide within the store.

The jewelery store is located on Fifth Avenue with Calle 32 Norte, so the assault occurred when the emblematic tourist zone was crowded with people.

The Ministerial Police already completed the first investigations, interrogated employees and all the people who were at that moment in the site.

After the operation, in Calle 22 north with Fifth Avenue, three of the alleged assailants were arrested.

It is noteworthy that in this type of commercial establishments such as Diamonds Jewelery, an assault immediately activates the security codes, prompting the release of CO2 agent that originates a kind of fog inside the establishment with the aim of inhibiting the assault through loss of visibility.
