Collision in Valladolid kills five people

An auto collision Monday July 10 between two vehicles in Valladolid killed five people, including a one-year-old child.

As reported by El Diario de Yucatán newspaper, the collision took place at 9 am in Avenida Zací Hual in Sultana de Oriente. One of the vehicles was a Nissan Tsuru, a patient transport service vehicle for the nearby hospital whose driver was looking for an entrance to the building. However, Wilfrido Castro May, the van’s driver and whose vehicle was a property of Dzitás City Council [license plates: WSA-21-39], did not respect a stop sign and was hit by a pickup truck.

Unfortunately, the five passengers in the Tsuru passed away. Teresa Kumul May and her husband, Andrés Che Pech, were ejected from the vehicle and died at the scene. Zenaida Mex Tuz, María Antonia Rodríguez Chulín and her one-year old daughter, Tania Ceballos Rodríguez, were found alive but died on the way to the hospital.
