New Best Buy store to open in Merida’s Uptown mall Friday

The U.S. electronics-store chain Best Buy plans a grand opening for its first store in Merida at 6 p.m. on Friday June 16. The new store is located in the Uptown shopping complex in Colonia Altabrisa in north Merida.

The new Merida store is part of Best Buy’s expansion plan in Mexico, Best Buy inaugurated its 26th store in the country, located in the Fortuna Shopping Center in the Lindavista area north of Mexico City, in April.

“With this opening we added 26 units in the country and 11 in Mexico City, and we expect to continue growing to meet the needs of the Mexican market, which is one of the most important for us as a company,” said Best Buy’s director of marketing , Juan Carlos Gómez.

According to the manager, this opening endorses Best Buy’s commitment to Mexican customers: “We want to help make your life easier through the technology and advice we offer. Our sellers, so-called “blue shirts” or “blue ones,” have more than 110 hours of training a year to help them solve all their doubts and give them the best alternative according to their needs,” said Gómez.

In addition to this training in electronics and sales service, some sellers receive additional preparation in specialized categories such as computers or screens.
