The Construction Industry of Mexico Chamber says that it is an important project that should not be ruled out.
MERIDA — All monumental work seems impossible, such as the construction of a drainage system for Merida, but it is necessary to start at some point this important urban infrastructure, said Gustavo Arballo Luján, the national president of the Construction Industry Mexican Chamber (CMIC, by their initials in Spanish).
In his recent visit to Merida to inaugurate the XX Expo-Construcción at the Convention Center Yucatan Siglo XXI, the national leader assured that the country has engineers, technicians, machinery, supplies and the capacity to build the sanitary drainage of Mérida, which is necessary.
“I would say one thing to Merida’s inhabitants, fortunately in Mexico we have the technical capacity to make studies, proposals and construction of monumental works such as drainage,” he said.
Arballo Luján points out that to build the Merida drainage should not be ruled out, even if people now think it is impossible to be constructed. It can be done, and that is why there are works divided in several stages. He admits that it may not be possible to build drainage in the whole city in just one attempt, because of its high cost and construction time, but you can start with the construction in some key places.
