According to El Financiero newspaper, the real estate developer “Thor Urbana” will complete The Harbor Mérida, a lifestyle retail center in Yucatan, during the first half of 2018 with an investment of more than $138 million USD. This complex will be the largest shopping center in the southeast of Mexico, and it will be located within the Via Montejo development, which in turn will require a $1.4 billion investment.
The profitable area of the project is about 70 thousand square meters, and it will offer entertainment, fashion and food services. “We already have national and international brands that will open their shops in this complex. Likewise, we have a wide range of food services, to which we allocated 35% of our total space,” metioned Alejandro Abeijón, Director of Communication of Thor Urbana.

To make the mall a greater experience, The Harbor Mérida will have an artificial lake of more than 8 thousand square meters. “We have made a huge advance in the project’s construction; the design is done and we are in the finishing phase. As mentioned, The Harbor Merida will be part of the complex under construction in Vía Montejo, which will be mainly office buildings and three residential towers with 800 apartments of 120 square meters.
“Mérida is one of the most important financial centers in the Yucatan Peninsula. On the other hand, it has a great culture, great gastronomy and national and international art projection. It is also the number one city in terms of security. It has attracted a lot of migration from people who seek the peace this place gives”, concluded Abeijón.
This shopping center will be a fashion mall that will offer exclusive shops and services in Mérida, generating approximately 800 direct and 960 indirect jobs. Thor Urbana Capital develops more than 750 thousand square meters in different cities of the country.
