It is a very serious way to start a project.

CANCUN — Quintana Roo will soon have its own Tourism Promotion Council, which will have an allocated budget of around 700 million pesos, the largest in the country.

What do entrepreneurs in the region want? They want to unify the tourist promotion of all destinations of the state under the same administration.

Who will lead it? Darío Flota, current director of the Tourist Promotion Trust of the Riviera Maya and Cozumel.

One of the objectives of this new organization will be to prioritize the promotion of smaller municipalities through more effective schemes.

This month is expected to approve the decree in the Congress of the state, which will formally form the Council of Tourism Promotion of Quintana Roo.

It should also be approved to be allocated resources from the lodging tax and nonimmigrant rights paid by tourists arriving in the state.
