Xcaret expansion project to include stadium, convention center

CANCUN — As part of the expansion of Xcaret and accompanying the new hotel that should be ready in December of this year, Xcaret Group projects in three or four years the creation of a large Center of Conventions and a Stadium with capacity for 12 thousand people, confirmed Marcos Constandse Redko, general director of Destino Xcaret Hotels.

“The resort Destino Xcaret is going to have not only a large convention center, but also a stadium for 12 thousand people, available for cultural, sporting and social events. In addition it will have a commercial component, a large commercial center, in such a way that it will be strengthened to offer our visitors a sustainable destination, totally attached to our philosophy to show the best of Mexico,” he said.

The convention center could host major events such as Mexico’s Tourist Fair, as it will have an international scale and characteristics.

Regarding the hotel, he mentioned that what is important is that they will bring a new product that will revolutionize the hotel industry in the state, called “All Fun Inclusive”, since each guest with all inclusive services will also have access to all the parks of the group.

“The new resort of the group Destino Xcaret will be inaugurated in a first stage with the hotel Xcaret Mexico, a new proposal in the hotel environment that involves five differentiated products, we call them houses, following the tradition of hospitality ‘my house is your house’ (Mi casa es tu casa), it will be focused on different market segments,” he said.

The hotel will have 900 rooms distributed in: Fire House, for adults; Earth House, focused on families; Spiral House, focused on groups, conventions, events, weddings; Wind House for families with small children, because they will have special attractions; and Water House, focused on wellness and health.

He remarked that the enterprise has been working on this project during the last nine years, considering all environmental and hydrological studies. The vision isn’t only not to affect the environment but improve it. It will be the first hotel in the whole continent that has a special certification of Earth Check.
