PLAYA DEL CARMEN — Two violent attacks were registered on Tuesday May 16, in which one victim was stabbed to death and in the second thieves got away with more than $100,000 pesos.
The first assault occurred just past midnight on Tuesday May 16, when it was reported that a person walking on Fifth Avenue was stabbed in an assault committed by two subjects; although the victim was transferred to the hospital, he was pronouced dead.
The other assault occurred before 10:00 a.m. in the morning, when three subjects in a white Pointer car approached the Pacsa Deli store, located at 34th street with 75th, where they intercepted a local worker and robbed him of $103 thousand pesos that he was going to deposit in a bank account.
The Police secured the vehicle the thieves used, but they were not able to catch the subjects. Only it is known that they were three young adults.
Rodriguez Olvera Director of Public Security recalled for citizens to take precautions to avoid as much as possible to be prey of criminals, and called for a vote of confidence towards them as they work to reduce crime.
