A Sentra car reportedly crossed into the lane of a tour bus.
YUCATAN — A brutal collision between a car and a tour bus left a tragic balance of two dead and 16 injured, on Sunday May 28 in the afternoon, in the section Kinchil-Celestún, in the curve known as “Bella Flor”.
The crash took place around 18:30 hours when a bus, driven by Jose Ek, which was transporting locals from Hunucma who had gone to the port of Celestún, collided with a Nissan Sentra with Yucatan plates, which reportedly crossed into the bus’ lane at kilometer 55 + 500.

The impact was brutal: the car was destroyed — practically it was divided in two transversely. Luis Ortiz, director of Ecology of Celestun, and Jesús M., died. Although one of the police reported that three people died, the authorities have not confirmed this version yet.
The federal route was closed for several hours, to facilitate the work of the Public Ministry.
