Tulum wants to be a “Pueblo Mágico” for two more years

“The process to officially endorse Tulum as “Pueblo Mágico” for two more years by the Secretariat of Federal Tourism (Sectur), has an advance of 80 percent and must conclude in the next days”, assured the Director General of Tourism, Narda de la Cruz Córdova.

Once each of the issues established by that federal agency is fulfilled, it will be the municipal president, Romalda Dzul Caamal, who will hand it over to the state tourism authorities for validation.

This issue has been a priority for the administration of Municipal President Romalda Dzul Caamal, thus as soon as she took office at the Municipal Government, her team began working continously to meet each of the 10 topics assigned to ensure that Tulum remains a “Pueblo Mágico” for two more years.

Although urban development planning is an important part of the project, it only represents 20 percent of all the points that must be fulfilled in order for the Ministry of Tourism to endorse the certificate as a Magical Town for two more years.

Dzul Caamal said that work is being done with the support of the State Tourism Secretariat, and that even when has to start from scratch, a significant advance has been achieved.

Complying with the established guidelines will guarantee the  resources to be properly allocated in order to improve the urban image and appeal of the city.
