Mexican enterpreneurs must face the “Trump Era” with a positive attitude

Mexican businessmen participating in the 47th World Economic Forum affirmed that they will face the beginning of the presidential term of Donald Trump with a “positive” attitude.

We have to be positive and we will be positive,” said José Antonio Fernández Carbajal, president of the board of directors of the Mexican Economic Development Corporation (FEMSA).

The head of the Mexican multinational of beverages and convenience stores predicted that commercial “negotiation” with the United States will be complicated but worthwhile.

The team of entrepreneurs who are supporting the government is prepared and I believe that we will result in things that are more positive than negative,” said Carbajal.

According to a survey by the international consultancy PWC presented at the beginning of the forum, the presidents of large Mexican companies confirmed that they were worried about the start of Donald Trump’s term.

Mexican and US business leaders are among the most worried about the threat of protectionism for their companies that represent the announcements made by Trump and also among those who least certainty about the future of their companies this year.

However, the presidents of more than 1,300 large multinationals that responded to the Pricewaterhouse poll chose Mexico in eighth place from a list of ten favourite territories to invest during this year.

Mexico needs to make the case that the country would be a goo place for Tech companies, like Google, to move here to stay competitive on the national stage. After all, Mexican students recently won the international Robots AND computer design awards.
